Day 17

the plan was to go to the highline, but because the weather was shit and it started raining like a retard. we went to the MET again, but this time we looked at all sorts of amazing paintings. we started in the 1600s all the way to todays work, its crazy how much you can learn from them, like comparing them and looking at the difference in colour and brush strokes, styles and so on.

for design class we started editing our own pictures, my group picked out our own cover photos, but i cant find my phone and have looked for 2 days no, therefor there wont be any pictures and has not been for the last 2 days :( :( :(

our task today was to sketch out a skeleton, and paint everything except it. we had camouflage pieces of cloth behind the skeleton, and we painted and finished it in class. Before that, we had a quick ctirique where we posted 3 pieces of work onto the wall each, our homework, the work in class yesterday, and then the work in class the day before, we talked about 2 of my paintings, and i really liked my comments, thankyou guys!

Day 14

DRAWING

we drew a model again today, but this time we used gouache instead of just sketching. we woekde with the same pose all 3 hours of class, and focused on values of the scene. we drew the whole room not only the model, and when we were done sketching lightly with pencil, we had to decided what shade is darker middle grey and what is lighter than middle grey. everything lighter should be left white and everything darker is painted black. It took me some guts to paint ast lines with black so everything blends in, but i did it and i really liked the results!

(im sorry i dont know how to rotate the pictures!!!)

DESIGN

Day 13

DRAWING

today was a fun day, for drawing class what we did today was we drew our garment on our mannequin for our magazine, what i did was i used pencil to sketch out the model including the neighboring ones, and then i used water colour to paint over the sketch. It was hard to make the tie dye effect, so i just painted the dress using clear water, and then dab blue on it so it spreaded out making it look kind of tie dye ish.

DESIGN

and for design class, we watched some videos about photo taking, and then we went out to the nature and tried what we learned, frank showed us alot of useful tips for our own shoots tomorrow! here are some pictures i took, pretty cool right?

Juan being the stylist

i had alot of good shots, but here are one of each model so it does not take up too much space :)

Day 12

MOMA

we were at the museum of modern art today, we saw several exhibits and some great art works.

my favorites are definitely the more modern type, where the painting is more abstract. i especially liked the sculptures, i thought they were amazing and so creative.

i decided that i would take a picture of all the paintings i liked and post it on this blog, but i just went through them and there are WAY too many. so here re my favorites out of my favorites!

and danish furniture! yay!!
