Day 9

CRITIQUE GREYSCALE GLUEING

We did our first critique today, what we did was the whole class posted theire homework on the wall, and we all stood infront of it and comment on pictures..we talked about what we liked about others paintings and i think its a great way to learn, to hear about what you can do better, from both the teacher and fellow students.

we made a greyscale during drawing class today, a grey scale is an evenly mixed scale starting from black and ending with white. it sounds easy, and looks easy too..but to make a GOOD greyscale, you need alot of time and dedication!! ALOT of patience too.

some problems i had while trying to make my greyscale was when i mixed my colours, the paint was too thin and looked too much like water colour...and streaky!

i restarted after finishing my first greyscale, because i accidentally dropped water on my first one...woopy shit, but its okay, you only get better with practice :)

heres some pictures :) i continued my greyscale by clipping out grey colours from a magazine that matched my greyscale exactly.

Here is my greyscale, i did alot of testing to find the right colours.
the beautiful wall full of homework! i have some REALLY tallented classmates, its crazy how great people are at drawing and painting.
The statue of the naked women, the 2 people kissing and the 2 hands ontop of theose are my homework, during the critique today, i got complimented for the statue and the kissing painting, im so proud :D

one of the things we did today was we carved building window shoapes from our photograph to the backside of our top.

you can not really tell here on this picture, but i spent hours on gluing pieces of A4 sandpaper of different textures together using a glue gun, and then later cutting it into the pattern we made with muslin, and then taping the backside with duct tape for a 100% safe stick
a sneak peak at our fabulous purple sandpaper pants! its flipped inside out right now, and look how dancy it is on the inside! cheetah duct tape!!!

this is after the cutting was finished, and we glued the sides so it does not rip.

Juan made a mirror choker, beautiful!

 the smooth blue sky.

guarment to be continued :D
